Ya’ll I must be crazy! I have an 8 week old baby, and I’m about to do the One Room Challenge™! What?! If you are unfamiliar with the One Room Challenge™ it is a widely anticipated biannual event hosted by Calling it Home and Better Homes & Gardens every April and October. It is an event where bloggers from all over take the challenge to transform a space in just six weeks!
This is our second time participating in the One Room Challenge™ and we are so excited to get started! Recently, our two oldest sons started sharing a room and we have yet to decorate it for them. So we are transforming their room into what I am calling a “vintage modern boys room”. I love combining antiques and vintage treasures with a few modern touches to give a room a fun eclectic feel!
If you missed our first One Room Challenge™ we gave our laundry room a major overhaul! Here is a little flashback “before and after” for you.
Talk about a complete transformation! It’s been a year and a half, and I am still every bit as in love with it as I was then. It has made the room so much more functional and enjoyable to use.
Vintage Modern Boys Bedroom Inspiration
Now, on to this year’s ORC inspiration for our Vintage Modern Boys Bedroom! Exploration, curiosity and adventure are a huge part of life with little boys, so I am wanting to incorporate those themes into their decor. We have tons of awesome DIY projects and crafts planned for the room and I cannot wait to share them all with you. For now, here is a peek at my inspiration board for the room. Make sure to come back next week to check on our progress!

I don’t think you’re crazy for doing this challenge with an 8-week-old…but then again, I’m biased, because I’m in the same situation as you!!! I’m due to give birth in two weeks, so I will also be participating in this ORC with a newborn to care for. Good luck to you, mama! Love your boys room design!

Lauren this is a great plan for the boys room. I love the color and theme. Those spindle headboards are also so cool for that space, it is going to be a good ORC!

Oh, girl. Good luck! I dodn’t know that I would be so brave. I already feel like the ORC gives me sleepless nights. Love your plan though!!

I had a baby during week 4 or 5 of the last ORC we did haha! It was certainly a crazy time but you can do it!!

Ahh, I’m crazy too doing this with a 7 week old so don’t worry we can be crazy together. We actually finished the older boys room and it looks similar to your design board. I’m doing the nursery since we haven’t yet finished it, I thought this would give me the kick in the butt I needed.
